What distances are available?

Solo 5km, Solo 10km, and Trio Relay 10km (legs: 3.2 km + 1.8 km + 5 km). All start from the Benagil and Carvoeiro area on September 12, 2026.

Where does the race go?

Point-to-point along the Algarve coast from Benagil & Carvoeiro beaches to Ferragudo Praia dos Caneiros.

What is included in the registration fee?

Electronic chip timing, official swim cap, event t-shirt, nutrition & drinks, in/out-of-water support, safety cover (including Marine Police), transport for departure/arrival, and the post-race beach party with lunch.

Is a tow float compulsory?

Yes — mandatory for all participants. It helps the safety team identify and monitor swimmers. Tow floats are provided for swimmer identification on the day.

Do I need a wetsuit?

Wetsuits are optional. Sea temperature in the Algarve in September is typically 21–24°C. Final guidance will be in the pre-race briefing.

What safety cover is on the water?

Safety kayakers along the full route, a dedicated escort boat for the 10 km, Marine Police, a medical team at the finish, and buoys marking the full course.

How does the Trio Relay work?

Three swimmers cover 10 km in legs: 3.2 km + 1.8 km + 5 km. Each swimmer swims their leg continuously in the water — there is no touching a boat between legs. Each swimmer needs their own tow float.

Is transport included?

Yes — given the point-to-point course, transport for departure and arrival is included in every registration. Details in the pre-race briefing sent two weeks before race day.

What is Swim Week?

A programme of activities the week leading up to race day: morning guided sea swims at 7:00 AM, yoga, pilates, stretching, cultural Algarve experiences, and a Thursday evening Sunset Drinks with Olympic Athletes at Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa.
